Supporting the organizations in our communities.
National Kidney Foundation
Newberry Group is proud to support the National Kidney Foundation in its efforts in preventing kidney disease, improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by kidney disease and promoting organ donation. With local offices nationwide, the NKF conducts extensive public and professional education, provides early detection screenings, advocates for patients through legislative action, promotes organ donation, and supports kidney research to identify new treatments. The NKF relies on individual and corporate donations, foundation and government grants, memberships and special events to support its range of programs, services and initiatives.
As part of its support, Newberry Group is sponsoring the Maryland-area National Kidney Foundation Cadillac Golf Classic on June 17, 2013. Newberry Group’s Chairman & CEO, Chris Steinbach, is also serving on the planning committee for the event. The NKF Cadillac Golf Classic is the Premier Amateur Gold Event for Charity and benefits the NKF’s vision to enhance the lives of everyone with, at risk of or affected by kidney disease. Newberry Group supports the Fisher House program through sponsorship, Executive Committee support, and fundraising. Fisher House is a unique private-public partnership that supports America's military members by meeting a humanitarian need beyond what is normally provided by the Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs. Since many members of the military and their families are stationed worldwide and often must travel great distances for specialized medical care, Fisher House Foundation donates "comfort homes," built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one during the most stressful of times -- hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury. For more information about Fisher House and its services, visit them online at www.fisherhouse.org.
